History of OpTech software

The OpTech software platform is an integrated family of components that span the requirements of opinion research. OpTech has core elements that were conceived in the late 70's, when Chris Downie began working on a series of libraries for crosstab analysis, graphics, statistics, and interview processing. But those early components have evolved through numerous generations of system redesign.

OpTech's most recent rearchitecture cycle occurred in 2001-2003, with the completion of OpTech's revolutionary distributed interviewing technology. OpTech thus combines the stability of proven libraries and tools with the advanced capabilities of today's cutting-edge technology.
